Insurance

Depending on your plan and your specific situation, you may be able to use your insurance to cover at least part of your therapy sessions with me using either in-network or out-of-network coverage options.

I have a processional billing service which makes processing insurance claims painless for my clients, whether in-network our out-of-network.

New Provisions for Online/Phone Counseling due to The COVAD-19 Pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on March 18, 2020, the California Department of Managed Healthcare (DMHC) released a letter stating that all healthcare plans shall, effective immediately, reimburse providers at the same rate whether a covered service is provided in-person, online (video conference), or via telephone (voice only). So if your particular plan covers your therapy for in-person counseling it should cover online or phone counseling as well. This applies is you are in-network or out-of-network from my perspective.

Please contact me if you have any questions about whether or not I can work with your insurance.

In-network means that I have negotiated a contracted rate with your health insurance company.

Conversely, out-of-network means that I do not have a contract with your health insurance company but they still may reimburse you for part or your out-of-pocket expense.

In-Network Insurance Coverage

I have been an in-network provider in good standing with Anthem BlueCross and BlueCross/BlueShield of California for more than 10 years. If you currently have health insurance with one of these companies, depending on your specific situation, your therapy sessions may be eligible for coverage less your plan’s co-payment.

Out-of-Network Insurance Coverage

If your health insurance is not one of those listed above you still may be eligible to receive reimbursement for a percentage of your treatment with me if your plan allows for out-of-network coverage, which most PPOs allow for.

However, please be aware, you are responsible for full payment before the start of each session, and, if your plan allows for out-of-network providers, then a portion of your out-of-pocket costs may be reimbursed by your insurance. Contact your insurance provider to verify eligibility for out-of-network reimbursement.

These are some of the out-of-network PPOs which my clients have received partial reimbursement from in the past. However, always contact your insurance provider for eligibility:
