Children and parenting

Elementary and Middle School Children: Through behavior therapy and game playing I teach anger management, communication and relationship skills. I encourage adjustment to difficult life changes such as separation, divorce, loss of a parent or starting in a new school. I often work collaterally with parents, teachers and the school staff to help children who have problems with academics or behavior. Often I view the problem as a dynamic of the family relationship and suggest treating the whole family.

Parenting: I work with parents in a teaming effort to help them improve parenting skills, manage behavioral problems and engorge healthy development of their children.

Single Parenting: I have worked with many single parents and understand the many challenges they face. I offer education, support, and referrals.

Families with Special-Needs Children: Offering support and counseling for families with these unique challenges.

Trauma and Abuse: I have experience working with children who have experienced trauma or abuse. My approach is gentle; making sure the child feels safe. We carefully explore as your child opens up to encourage healing. Most of my treatment is helping your child thrive in there current life, by teaching them life skills and fostering an improved self esteem.
